Students participate in an experiential learning exercise at CNCC

From 2012 to 2017, Robyn and Ryan Wilson worked for Colorado Northwestern Community College in the areas of instructional design, students advising, teacher training, and instruction.  During this time, the owners of Loud Example oversaw several initiatives that continue to impact students success at the college today.

The Students Success Database

In education, measuring how a student responds to interventions is an important part of assessing the validity of work being conducted by different departments at a college.  In the Summer of 2013, Ryan created a students success database that would track student interventions and provide data that could be used to determine the efficacy of student success initiatives.  Using student grade checks at specific times during a semester, the school was able to refine their work and increase student success.  To promote the work, Ryan filmed a short video that featured many of the participants that were instrumental in creating the process.

COSI Grant

As the Director of Academic Advising, Robyn was asked by the Vice President of Instruction, David Smith, Ph.D., to apply for and administer a grant that was awarded to the college by the Colorado Opportunity Scholarship Initiative.  Her efforts benefited the school in the amount of $100,000 and further helped first-generation rural students begin their college career.
